Scattergrams for 2014

In August 2014 samples of about 50 bees from each of 7 colonies were examined using the procedure described on the previous page.
The results are shown on the scattergrams below. Again the red box provides a guide where the points for black bees might be expected to be found. And the purple line gives the mean value for the cubital index (ideally 1.7).
What is perhaps surprising is the variation between colonies of the points found outside the red box - mainly on the right of the box.
Hives 1, 3, and 6 gives good results whereas hives 2, 4, and 11 show there is a significant number lying outside the box.
It is difficult to explain why hive 12 is so different from the others.
